Salem To Host Public Safety Night Of Events On The Common
The program will run Aug. 3 on the Salem Common featuring a basketball game, K-9 demonstration, sprinkler demonstration and more.

SALEM, MA — Salem police, fire and other city municipal departments and organizations are hosting a Salem Public Safety Day of events on Salem Common on Aug. 3.
The family-friendly event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and include a Salem Police & Fire vs. Boys & Girls Club basketball game, police K-9 demonstration and Tour-a-Truck with Salem police, fire and department of public works apparatus.
There will also be a Salem fire sprinkler demonstration and free ice cream.

"Being a newly appointed chief, I look forward to meeting the Salem residents we serve at this community event," Salem Police Chief Lucas Miller said. "I encourage all of Salem's residents, young and old, to come to the Common on Tuesday evening."
"This is such a fun night and a great opportunity to talk about fire safety and fire prevention," Salem Fire Chief Alan Dionne agreed.
