Salem Makes Vogue's 2018 List Of Top Nine Must-Visit Cities

SALEM, MA -- Welcome to the world of high-fashion, Salem. Long seen as a nice day trip for visitor's to Boston, Salem is affirming itself as a destination in its own right. The latest accolade comes from Vogue magazine, which released its list of must-visit cities Friday and included Salem on the list.

Not surprisingly, the decision to include Salem on the list emphasized the amenities for the fashion-conscious.

"Salem’s new occult leans more toward the spiritual, making this town a hotbed for today’s holistic wellness set. Other cities on the list included Salida, Colo., Greenport, N.Y., Joseph, Ore., Sarasota, Fla., Taos, N.M., Lexington, Ky., Santa Rosa, Calif., and Ketchum, Idaho. This year's Vogue list made a conscious decision to focus on smaller U.S. cities.

"While major U.S. cities may attract top chefs, artists, and hospitality groups, America’s small towns are becoming increasingly cool," the magazine noted. With enough cultural attractions to rival any big city and retrofitted motels that will pique even the most refined traveler’s interest, here are the not-to-miss U.S. destinations quickly rising in popularity among today’s jet set.
