Salem Man Arrested After Rear-Ending Swampscott Cruiser at Red Light
The man was charged with multiple charges, including operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor (second offense).

An alleged repeat drunk driver was arrested after he reportedly rear-ended a Swampscott police cruiser that was stopped at a red light at Danvers Road and Essex Street.
Police arrested Matthew Sinclair, 34, 1 Willow Ave., Salem, at 6:18 p.m. Sunday and charged him with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor (second offense), negligently operating a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle.
There were no reported injuries.
