SALEM, MA — A Salem man accused of calling a hoax report to Salem police that someone had an AK-47 rifle in the bathroom of the Wendy's on Lafayette Street Saturday night was also charged with a similar "swatting" call on Palmer Street on Friday.
Police said they responded to the 9-1-1 call at the Wendy's at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and found no evidence of a gun on the premises following a search of the restaurant.
