Salem Man Charged In Killing Of Woman On Cabot Street: Essex DA

The Essex County District Attorney's Office said the woman was found dead during a wellness check on Tuesday night.

SALEM, MA — A Salem man was expected to be in court on Thursday to face murder charges after a woman was found dead on Cabot Street on Tuesday night.

Essex County DA Paul Tucker and Salem Police Chief Lucas Miller said officers responded to a well-being check on Tuesday night and found the 42-year-old woman dead.

Police said a 50-year-old Salem man sought in connection with the woman's death was found in Portsmouth, NH on Wednesday and arrested.

He was expected to be arraigned on a fugitive from justice charge in New Hampshire prior to his arraignment in Salem District Court on the murder charge.

The Essex DA's Office said the woman's identity was being withheld pending next-of-kin notification as of Wednesday night.
