Salem Man Killed In Rollover Truck Crash: Police

Salem police said they believe the pickup truck rolled over after hitting a guardrail and then a motorized scooter late Thursday night.

SALEM, MA — A Salem man was killed in a rollover truck crash in the area of Highland Avenue near Ravenna Avenue and Old Village Drive Thursday night.

Police said they responded to a report of an accident involving a pickup truck and motorscooter at about 11 p.m. and found "an extensive crash scene." Police said first responders began performing life-saving measures but that Daniel Elias Lopez Temaj, 20, who was the driver of the truck, died from his injuries.

Police said a preliminary investigation determined that the truck apparently hit a guardrail, then collided with the motorscooter, which was being ridden in the same direction, and that Lopez Temaj was ejected from the truck when it rolled over.
