Boy Found Safe In Salem 'Parental Abduction'

Massachusetts State Police said the 11-year-old was located in Woburn.

SALEM, MA — An 11-year-old boy believed to be the victim of a parental abduction in Salem was found "safe and sound" Wednesday afternoon, according to Massachusetts State Police.

Police said the boy was found in Woburn during a traffic stop near Main and Kirby streets. Anthony Lonano, 40, was taken into custody and Woburn police were caring for the boy.

"Thank you to all the agencies assisting in this effort," Salem police said. "Salem police are investigating the circumstances of this incident and whether charges will be sought against Anthony Lonano Sr."

State and Salem police sent out an alert asking for the public's help in looking for Lonano, wanted for the "parental abduction" of his son.

State police said Lonano was driving a dark green/blue Toyota Camry.
