Salem Mental Wellness Campaign To Support Older Adults

The first workshop "Enhancing your Mental Wellness" will be held at Ames Hall at the Salem YMCA on Thursday from 4 to 5 p.m.

SALEM, MA — A Salem for All Ages project aiming to provide enhanced mental health support for older adults and their caregivers will kick off this week with a workshop at Ames Hall at the Salem YMCA on Wednesday.

The workshop is part of a six-month mental wellness campaign in collaboration with Boston University's Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research.

Organizers said the goal of this campaign is to raise awareness of the behavioral health issues that many adults are experiencing, which have risen exponentially since the pandemic, provide local resources, and decrease stigma relating to mental health.
