Salem Named Best City To Celebrate Halloween In US
Using internet search results, Treetopia compiled a list of which US cities are the most popular for each holiday.
SALEM, MA — A recent analysis of Google Trends ranked Salem as the best city in the country to celebrate Halloween. It's well-known that Salem is a destination for Halloween lovers, but this ranking just solidifies its position.
Treetopia put together a map showing which U.S. cities get the most searches in conjunction with a holiday. "Halloween Salem," for example, got more searches than "Halloween New Orleans," so Salem beat out New Orleans for a place to celebrate Halloween.
Salem also sees about 250,000 visitors annually for Halloween celebrations.

Not surprisingly, the best place to celebrate Thanksgiving is in Plymouth, Mass., and Veterans' Day is best celebrated in Washington, D.C., according to the map, which took the search results from October 2016 to October 2017.
Los Angeles won the prize for New Year's Eve, Orlando won Christmas and Denver took the cake for Cinco de Mayo.
