Salem Named to Top 5 Places to Visit in 2015
Travel site named two cities in Massachusetts as New England and Mid-Atlantic day trip destinations.
Salem already gets its share of tourists in October, but it may see even more. The city was recently named one of offMetro travel site’s five best places to visit in 2015.
Though the site made sure to mention Salem’s reputation as a Halloween must-see, the ghosts and goblins (and witches, of course) are not the city’s only attraction.
The site also touted Salem as an art-lover’s paradise thanks in part to the Peabody Essex Museum, 161 Essex St. in Salem. The museum’s “permanent collection showcases an outstanding spectrum of American art, enhanced by the play of light that the atrium setting provides,” according to offMetro.
