Salem Plans Back To School Festival At Palmer Cove Park
Don't look at the calendar now but there are only a few weeks left of summer vacation.

SALEM, MA — While there is still some time left to enjoy that summer vacation, the Salem Teachers Union and Salem Public Schools are already busy looking forward to the start of the new school year.
This year, that will once again include the Back to School Festival on Aug. 23 at Palmer Cove Park on Leavitt Street.
The event will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will include food, games, fun, plus important information on resources for the upcoming school year. Transportation will be provide for families looking to attend.

The opening days for Salem Public Schools are Aug. 28 and Aug. 29.
The Salem Teachers Union is also running a fundraiser for the event that supplies backpacks to students. To donate, Venmo Salem Teachers Union @STUEvents. Checks can be mailed to Salem Teachers Union – 10 Colonial Road, Suite 12 Salem, MA 01970.

Organizations that are interested in attending and plan on sharing information or giving something away at the Back to School Festivals should plan to bring their own tables and chairs and allow themselves enough time to unload and set up.
Staff will be onsite as early as 2:30 to assist. Parking is available on Congress Street and Salem Street near Saltonstall School between Leavitt Street and Lafayette Place.
