Police Log

The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police Department’s log:

Friday, Sept. 27:

• At 4:00 p.m., police responded to a past shoplifting incident at the Home Depot on Traders Way.
• At 4:04 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a cyclist near the intersection of Brown and New Liberty streets.
• At 5:00 p.m., an employee at the Hess gas station on Derby Street called police to report that a customer had just driven off without paying for gas.
• At 6:39 p.m., police responded to a dispute near the intersection of Lafayette and Harbor streets.
• At 7:03 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident near the intersection of Boston and Essex streets.
• At 8:13 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that someone stole the front license plate off of his car while it was parked on Bridge Street.
• At 8:33 p.m., police responded to the North Shore Medical Center after receiving word that a woman was found to be in possession of Suboxone. A summons was issued for the woman on a charge of illegally possessing a class B substance (Suboxone).
• At 10:42 p.m., police located a man known to have an outstanding warrant on Lafayette Street. Miguel A. Hernandez, 28, of 116 Lafayette St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.

Saturday, Sept. 28:

• At 12:40 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Lafayette Street.
• At 1:05 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at the intersection of Central and Charter streets. Tayla M. Errico, 21, of 6 Gillmore St., Stoneham, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct. Jacquelyn T. Sharkey, 21, of 64 Main St., Stoneham, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
  
• At 1:09 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Essex Street. Alexander L. Baptista, 27, of 121 Hancock St., Everett, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace. Winston Williams Jr., 28, of 21 Essex St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace. Williams was pepper-sprayed.
  
• At 1:14 a.m., police responded to a report of gunshots on Ropes Street.
• At 1:28 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint near the intersection of Derby and India streets. Elias R. Moya, 25, of 11 Prince St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
• At 2:46 a.m., police responded to a report of broken flower pots and planters on Cousins Street.
• At 4:32 a.m., police responded to a report of a man walking down Mason Street with bolt cutters. The man was stopped by police and was found to be carrying a scooter over his shoulder.
• At 5:03 a.m., police responded to a noise complaint on School Street. Fravenny N. Pol, 30, of 36 School St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of disturbing the peace.
  
• At 9:52 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Park Street.
• At 10:58 a.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered in the Walmart parking lot.
• At 1:18 p.m., police responded to a report of found counterfeit money on Canal Street.
• At 2:03 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Lafayette Street.
• At 2:50 p.m., police responded to a shoplifting incident at the Shaw’s on Traders Way. Kenneth M. Dumas, 30, of 41 Elliot St., Beverly, was arrested on a charge of shoplifting.
• At 3:30 p.m., a Winter Street resident entered the police station to turn over two BB guns.
• At 4:05 p.m., a woman called police to report that she accidentally locked her two-year-old son in her car. Local firefighters responded and opened the vehicle.
• At 4:20 p.m., police responded to a report of counterfeit money on Butler Street.
• At 4:21 p.m., police responded to a report of a man taking pictures of women on Essex Street.
• At 5:00 p.m., police responded to a report of a cyclist struck by a motor vehicle near the entrance to the South Harbor Parking Garage.
• At 5:06 p.m., police responded to a report of men asking for money near the intersection of Washington and Federal streets.
• At 5:21 p.m., a Palmer Street man called police to report that someone slashed the tires on two of his motor vehicles overnight. The man told police he suspected his ex-girlfriend was responsible.
• At 5:51 p.m., police responded to a report of a chicken stuck in a bush on Chase Street. The area was checked and no chicken was found.

• At 6:27 p.m., police and fire units responded to an oven fire on Loring Avenue.
• At 9:07 p.m., police responded to shoplifting incident on Congress Street. A woman was issued a no trespass order.
• At 9:38 p.m., police responded to a report of a motorist operating erratically near the intersection of Canal Street and Loring Avenue.
• At 11:09 p.m., a Moffat Road resident called police to report the sound of gunshots coming from Pickman Park.
• At 11:21 p.m., police responded to a report o a loud party on Linden Street.

Sunday, Sept. 29:

• At 12:11 a.m., police responded to a loud party on First Street.
• At 12:42 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute near the intersection of Margin and Gedney streets.
• At 12:55 a.m., a Hart Way woman called police to report that an unknown person rang her doorbell.
• At 1:58 a.m., police responded to a loud party on Palmer Street.
• At 2:55 a.m., police responded to a report of teenagers jumping on the hoods of vehicles near the intersection of Derby and Carlton streets. Police checked the area and didn’t see any damaged vehicles.
• At 3:49 a.m., police responded to a loud house party on Loring Avenue.
• At 9:38 a.m., an officer disposed of hypodermic needles discovered near the intersection of Commercial Street and Leslie’s Retreat Parkway.
• At 10:40 a.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on North Street.
• At 12:41 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Cedar Street.
• At 2:33 p.m., police responded to a report of abuse to a chicken near the intersection of Salem and Chase streets. The animal control officer was notified.
• At 3:24 p.m., police responded to a possible shoplifting incident at the CVS on Highland Avenue.

Other arrest:

Sean D. Nguyen, 28, of 175 Boston St., Salem, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
