Salem Police Make 8 Arrests

The following was provided by the Salem Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday, March 29

4:36 p.m. — Threats were reported on St. Peter Street. Both people involved told police "the other had made the same threat to do harm to the other." Police said the people were advised to stay away from each other.

5:29 p.m. — A suspicious Rav 4 was reported on Carol Way. Police said the person who reported the incident said a man might be living in the vehicle. Police said the vehicle was legally parked, on private property and unoccupied.

5:30 p.m. — People bothering commuters was reported at the station. Police said nobody was there when they arrived, but the person in question was located near HMA and told police he had not approached anyone.

5:41 p.m. — A past assault was reported. Police said a youth was with his father. The youth told police that while he was in his technology education class at , another student "rubbed a piece of sand paper across the back of his neck." The student said he told his teacher.

7:22 p.m. — Police said they responded to the Police station. A woman reported that while she was walking through a school parking lot, a man called her a derogatory name in reference to her size. The woman said there were approximately six male teenagers playing basketball on Rainbow Terrace at the time. Police said the woman had no description of the man who made the comment or the kids playing basketball. Police said nobody was on the basketball court when they checked.

8:35 p.m. — While on patrol of the Planet Fitness area, police said officers observed a suspected drug deal. After investigation, police said they located five bags of marijuana and five percocet pills. Justice Gonzalez (see below) was arrested.

8:55 p.m. — Police confiscated a metal grinder and small black pipe used to smoke marijuana while on patrol on Bridge Street.

10:49 p.m. — Police received a 911 hangup from the state's dispatch about a house fire on Peabody Street. Police said no fire was located.

11:18 p.m. — Loud drums were reported on Derby Street.

11:52 p.m. — Another hang up from the state's dispatch was reported on Peabody Street. Police said the same person called earlier about a fire in his house and hung up. Police said the area was checked and there was no smoke, fire or alarms sounding.

Thursday Arrests

Kristine Michell Fiore, 27, of 2 Harbor St., in Manchester, was arrested on a warrant. She was also arrested on charges of illegal possession of class B substance, illegal possession of a class E substance and shoplifting.

Justice Gonzalez, 20, of 3 Henry Ave., in Lynn, was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of a class B substance.

Luke Scott Thibodeau, 24, of 8 Stearns St., in Swampscott, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of a class A substance. He was also arrested on a warrant.

Friday, March 30

12:54 a.m. — Loud screaming was reported at Lafayette and Derby streets. Police said a search of the area was done and a loud group leaving the bar was advised to keep it down.

1:17 a.m. — Police responded to the as a private party was getting out. Several groups started to yell at each other and police said they tried to disperse the crowd. Police said some of the people got hostile and were yelling and screaming. Two people were taken into protective custody. They were intoxicated and upset their friend was being arrested (see below), police said.

1:22 a.m. — Police arrested a woman for wanton destruction of property. Police said Jessica Dottin-McKie (see below) was arrested after she was allegedly "engaging in violent/tumultuous behavior" and kicked and damaged a vehicle while police were trying to clear a large and hostile crown from the AOH after a party.

4:13 a.m. — Officers assisted the at a dryer fire on

6:01 a.m. — A loud muffler was reported on Balcomb Street.

8:28 a.m. — Police said a man was struck by a vehicle at Lafayette and Leavitt streets.

8:43 a.m. — A UHaul went into a tree on Hersey Street. When police arrived, they said the operator and a passenger were still in the vehicle. Another had already exited. Police were told the incident occurred when the driver tried to park. The UHaul suffered extensive damage, police said, and a citation was issued.

1:31 p.m. — Police said a stolen vehicle was located on First Street.

2:01 p.m. — Police responded to on a report a patient punched a hole in a wall.

2:59 p.m. — A disturbance in front of the was reported.

3:38 p.m. — Graffiti on a Derby Street building was reported.

Friday Arrests

Jessica Dottin-Mckie, 21, of 103 Winthrop St., in Roxbury, was arrested on charges of wanton destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

Sharon A. Hobby, 42, of 197 Curwin Cl., in Lynn, was arrested on a warrant.

Richard R. LeFrancois, 53, of 22 Bengal Ln., was arrested on charges of assault by a dangerous weapon and assault and battery.

Brian F. Sewall, 61, who is listed as homeless, was arrested on a parole warrant violation .

Jay L. Woodward, 42, of 351 Bridge St., was arrested on a federal marshal warrant.
