Salem Power Outage Forces 2 Schools Out Of Witch City Mall

A downtown Salem power outage sent Salem Prep and New Liberty students to other schools for a full day of classes.

SALEM, MA — A power outage at the Witch City Mall in downtown Salem forced Salem Prep High School and the New Liberty Innovation School of Salem students and staff to relocate on Thursday.

The city said National Grid did not expect power to be restored until 2:50 p.m. on Thursday.

Because of that timeline, Salem Prep students and support staff relocated to Collins Middle School for a full day of learning. New Liberty students and support staff relocated to Salem High School.
