Salem Public Schools Closed Tuesday After Massive Storm
School officials said ongoing cleanup operations are forcing the closing of schools for a second straight day.
SALEM, MA — Salem Public Schools students will have a second straight day off from school because of the snow on Tuesday as the Witch City cleans up from this weekend's massive storm.
Due to continued snowfall, extremely cold temperatures, and the challenges of clearing the significant accumulation from roads, sidewalks, parking lots, and walkways, Salem Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday," school officials said early Monday night.
All after-school activities are canceled on Tuesday. School offices will be closed with staff working remotely.

Essex North Shore and Bishop Fenwick in Peabody are also closed on Tuesday.
The Salem School Committee meeting was to be held remotely on Monday night.
