Salem Resident Joins American Camp Association, New England
Bud Copeland has been appointed as New Director of Membership & Engagement

The American Camp Association, New England (ACA New England) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Bud Copeland, as the new Director of Membership & Engagement. “We are pleased to welcome Bud to our staff,” says Bette Bussel, Executive Director for ACA New England. “He has a great passion and understanding of the unique world of camp. He also has a great sense of our goals in terms of development and camp recruitment…and we are confident that he will be an outstanding addition to our team.”
In his new role, Copeland will be responsible for enhancing ACA New England’s membership; individual, camp and business recruitment and retention programs to meet organizational goals. In addition, Copeland will develop new business opportunities and investigate strategic partnerships.
Before joining the ACA New England, Bud worked for two years as a Course Consultant for Pearson Higher Ed. In addition, Copeland spent 13 summers at Camp Laurel South in Casco, Maine. There, he worked as a counselor, athletic director, campus leader, and eventually joined the full-time staff as Director of Operations. Prior to working full time at camp, Bud Spent 7 years as a middle school teacher and dean in Gainesville, Florida.
