Salem Residents Sought For Offshore Wind Benefits Working Group

Two community members are sought for a seven-person board that will provide oversight on the Community Benefits Agreement with Crowley.

SALEM, MA — Salem residents are encouraged to apply to be one of the two community members on the Community Benefits Agreement working group that will help provide oversight for CBA between Crowley and the city for the forthcoming offshore wind terminal.

Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo in February announced the $9 million in direct funding assistance the city is due in what Pangallo called "a public-private partnership to support the growth of renewable, offshore wind energy."

The Working Group is generally responsible for providing oversight for implementation of the CBA, which provides financial and non-financial benefits to the community in areas such as economic and workforce development, municipal services, sustainability and resilience, and education.
