Salem Restricts Parking On Some Streets For Snow Removal

City crews will be continuing regular snow plowing and clearing work throughout this week.

From The City of Salem: Following the heavy snowfall of last week, the Salem Police Department has imposed temporary parking restrictions on the following streets effective immediately and until further notice. City crews will be continuing regular snow plowing and clearing work throughout this week. Requests related to snow, including plowing reports or reporting an uncleared sidewalk, should be sent to snow@salem.com. Requests for non-emergency police response should be made by calling 978-744-1212.

Snow removal operations will be taking place in the following locations overnight, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., on January 9 and January 10. Please carefully note all posted temporary no parking signs, as locations where overnight snow removal are taking place will also be posted as temporary no parking zones in order to allow this work to occur. The scope of the work for each night may be adjusted based on the amount of progress that is made each evening.

Tuesday night: Washington Street (from the MBTA station to Norman/New Derby) Essex Street and Federal Street (from North/Summer to Washington) New Liberty Street and Essex Street (to Hawthorne Boulevard)
Sewall Street parking lot.

Wednesday night: New Derby Street and Derby Street (to Congress Street) Front Street and Charter Street
Church Street and Federal Street (from Washington to St. Peters) Church Street, Klop Alley, and Crombie Street parking lots
