Salem Snow Emergency Parking Ban Amid North Shore Winter Storm Warning

The North Shore was expected to be the jackpot for snow in the state with a foot or more across the coastal region.

SALEM, MA — Salem declared a snow emergency parking ban as of Saturday, with more than a foot of snow expected from ocean-effect snow associated with a storm offshore.

A Winter Storm Warning was issued for Essex County as the jackpot area for snow across the state.

Totals of one foot or more were reported across the North Shore as of early Saturday afternoon.

The parking ban went into effect at 9 p.m. on Friday for the entire city, and midnight for downtown locations.

All vehicles must be removed from public streets to allow crews to safely and efficiently plow and treat roadways.
