Salem State Announces Finalists In Buisness Plan Contest

The businesses include a Salem-based dog care service and a health records firm in Marblehead.

Enterprise CTR:Six businesses have been chosen as semi-finalists in the 2019 North of Boston Business Plan Competition. The purpose of the competition is to identify and support new or expanding businesses that want to grow on the North Shore. The companies that were selected are:

Chikara Health Records – Marblehead, MA

Chikara Health Records aims to revolutionize the way standard medical forms are collected from families for schools. By leveraging emerging standards we can collect data automatically from health care providers and share with schools by permission of the parents. This will save schools and families time and effort, and will ultimately result in a better quality of care for our kids.

Cash awards of $10,000 first prize, $3,000 second prize and $2,000 third prize will be awarded. Equally valued is the advice and feedback participants receive from the judges, who include early stage investors, venture capitalists, bankers and other experts. On November 13, 2019, the judges will interview the six semifinalists and choose the three finalists. The final presentations to determine the first, second and third place winners, will be held on Friday, December 6th in Marsh Hall on the Salem State University central campus from 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM. The public is invited to attend.
