Windy Weekend Weather Shifts Salem Willows Show Indoors

The Salem High Jazz Band and Collins Middle School Jazz Band show scheduled for Salem Willows will be held in the high school auditorium.

SALEM, MA — The return of Salem school arts productions for the public continues this week with a pair of shows open to all.

The Salem High School Jazz Band and the Collins Middle School Jazz Band will present a jazz concert in the Salem High auditorium on Saturday at 2 p.m. The show was originally scheduled for Salem Willows but was moved inside because of a forecast of high winds and possible rain.

The free concert will feature guest artist Jay Daly from the North Shore Music Theater. Cynthia Napierkowski will direct the show.

On Wednesday, "Arts in the Evening" featured three separate concerts in back-to-back style at Salem High.

The choruses performed in the auditorium at 6 p.m., the bands performed at 6:45 in the field house and the orchestras performed at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

"It's a wonderful night of showcasing our amazing kids and the growth that is made from their
beginner groups in 4th grade to their advanced level groups in high school," Salem Superintendent Steve Zrike said.
