Salem Students Honored At Assumption, Lasell, Lehigh
These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction.
SALEM, MA — These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinction at colleges and universities across the nation.
Megan Curley, a Lasell University student, earned a professional certificate from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
Curley received the certificate and training in understanding unconscious bias through an interactive program that, according to Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Event Management Siddharth Mobar, sheds light on the existence of unconscious bias in the industry and guides restaurant managers in their interactions with guests and employees.

Luke Smith earned a spot on the Assumption College 2021-22 Men's Golf team. Smith, Class of 2025, competed during the Greyhounds' fall season.
"At Assumption, our student-athletes learn how to effectively balance their academic and athletic commitments as we form the whole person," Coach John O'Hara said. "Whether it be athletic conditioning or leadership training, student-athletes are provided a comprehensive experience that prepares them for a life of meaning."

Lehigh University welcomed Irma Kapoglis as a fall 2021 graduate=student enrollee at the university.
