Salem Students Honored At Bryant, Champlain, Emmanuel, Husson, Tufts

SALEM, MA — These Salem students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

Sarah Kelly and Jeremy Valatka were named to the Champlain College Dean's List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the Fall 2022 semester.

Casey Weintraub was named to the College of Our Lady of the Elms fall 2022 Dean's List.

Weintraub was among 476 students named to the fall 2022 Dean's List.

To qualify, a full-time student must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher, without incompletes.

Chris Alihosseini is one of 29 medical students from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine's Class of 2024 who were recently inducted into the school's chapter of Sigma Sigma Phi.

Sigma Sigma Phi is the national osteopathic medicine honors fraternity for medical students training to become Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.). NYITCOM invites only a select number of students who rank at the top of their class to apply for Sigma Sigma Phi membership. Members are selected based on outstanding academic excellence, leadership qualities, and dedication to service.

Emmanuel College named more than 800 students to the Dean's List for the fall 2022 semester, including Salem students Catherine Hogan, Sophia Jimenez, Avery Kelleher, Alex L'heureux, Aiyana Lilly, Rosella Madigan and Katie Smith. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Emmanuel students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a 16-credit semester.

Owen Denby was named to the Dean's List at Tufts University for the fall 2022 semester. Dean's List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Bryant University recognizes Juliana Fruggiero for being named to the fall 2022 President's List.

The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 for at least 12 semester hours of work.

Emerson College student Lily Brown earned Dean's List honors for the fall 2022 Semester.

The requirement to make Dean's List is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher for that semester.

Brown is majoring in Journalism and is a member of the Class of 2025.

Lindsey Russell was named to Husson University's President's List for the fall 2022 semester.

During the fall semester, Russell was enrolled in Husson's Doctor of Physical Therapy/Bachelor of Science in the exercise science program.

Students who make the President's List must be enrolled as undergraduate students, carry a full-time load of 12 credit hours, complete all attempted courses in the time allotted for the semester, and achieve a 3.80 to 4.0 semester grade point average. Credits from pass/fail classes do not qualify for meeting the minimum credit hour requirement.
