North Shore Suicide Crisis Lifeline Alert Issued After 2 Weekend Deaths
Salem police urged any residents struggling, as well as their families and loved ones, to call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
SALEM, MA — Salem police were urging any resident struggling to reach out for help after two apparent suicides in the city over the weekend.
Police said one body was found in the stairwell leading to the North Street overpass at the train station, and the other was found in front of 12 Pope Street.
Both bodies were found by members of the public.

Police said that while the investigation continues there is no known risk to members of the general public.
"The Salem police encourage anyone who is in crisis, or struggling with their mental health, or their loved ones, to seek help," police said.

The Suicide and Crisis National Hotline is manned 24 hours a day and can be reached by dialing 988.
