Salem To Use ARPA Funds To Support City Festivals

For the second year, the city will provide up to $10,000 to support events this summer.

SALEM, MA — Salem is using part of its remaining federal American Rescue Plan Act funding to support festivals and special events in the city this summer.

For the second year, the city will provide grants to support cultural, creative and historic-focused programming as well as farmer's markets and awareness programs.

"Salem is a great place to live, work, and play in part because of the special events and festivals we host year-round," Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo said. "These events are crucial for our local economy as we continue our successful recovery from the pandemic.

The city will award up to $10,000 to nonprofits, community groups and other organizations planning events through Sept. 15.
