Salemites See Stanley in Boston Bruins' Future [IMAGE GALLERY]

Anticipation builds as hockey diehards stoke the Stanley Cup flames.

Tonight in Vancouver, the Boston Bruins will skate onto the ice for Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals.

Local ice hockey fans have little doubt as to what the result will be. Confidence in goalie Tim Thomas and faith and hope that the Black and Gold are fated for victory seem to be the rule of the day.

We caught up with Bruins fans on Tuesday as they were in their post Game 6 glow and gearing up for Wednesday's battle royale.

Outside of on Derby Street, Jack Melin was clear on what he expected.

"The Stanley Cup will come home; the Bruins will make history," he said.

Dave Eng agreed.

"They will do it," he added.

A few doors down at the newly opened, The Pig Next Door, Jamie Burns and his dog, Teak, were also willing to speak their minds.

"Teak thinks the Bruins are going to rough them up," Burns said.

Justin Swansburg and his crew, including Sam Pequero, stopped their work renovating his sister's new home on Daniel's Street to tell Patch how they see Game 7 developing.

"The Bruins will win by more than 4-0 — all of those Vancouver guys are nervous," Pequero said.

Preparing for her shift at on Pickering Wharf, Cara Donlin said she believes "the Bruins will win 3-2 in overtime."

Her co-worker, Dave Theberge, agreed to a point and shared his prediction.

"The Bruins will come out flying and win 3-1," he explained.

Salem Access Television (SATV) staffer, Casey Driscoll, imparted his short, but sweet recipe for victory.

"They need to bring their tenacity to Canada," Driscoll said.

Sitting at the bar at , Bob Colfer offered his own theory on the game.

"If the Bruins score first and stay out of the penalty box, they win."

Paul "Flash" Flaherty, one of the two legendary owners of shared his educated opinion as he stirred the beans in the kitchen.

"If Thomas plays like he's been playing, he will shut Vancouver out."
