School Threat Sends Salem High Into Shelter-In-Place

Salem school officials said the move was a precaution after a "non-credible swatting threat."

SALEM, MA — A threat via the Sandy Hook Promise anonymous reporting system sent Salem High into a brief shelter-in-place on Thursday morning.

School officials said students were never in danger and the shelter-in-place was called "out of an abundance of caution."

Salem police performed a sweep of the high school while students remained in classrooms.
