School Website Problems Are A 'Fail' For Parents, Students
The Salem Public School system's Website is being rebuilt and is unavailable just two weeks before schools reopen.

SALEM, MA -- Parents and students have been unable to log on to the school system's Websites, thanks to a glitch that one City Councilor is calling a "clear fail" by the Salem Public Schools. Salem Public Schools are rebuilding its Websites, and parents and students who have tried to log on in recent years to get ready for the upcoming school year have been greeted by a generic message and have been unable to access any of the information on the site.
"They should have built the new site and tested it before shutting down the old one. It’s very disappointing, especially with less than a month to go in the summer recess," Ward 5 City Councilor Josh Turiel wrote on Facebook. Turiel runs a Beverly-based IT consulting firm.
A spokesperson for for Salem Public Schools was not immediately available for comment Monday afternoon.
