Resident tries to hide two dozen late-night partiers from police, gets hit with noise ordinance violation.

SALEM, MA - Early on Sunday morning, an Essex Street resident tried to play one of the worst games of hide-and-seek ever with the police and got a city noise ordinance violation for her troubles.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m., several police officers responded to an apartment on Essex Street for a report of a loud party.
When police arrived, they heard loud music and saw people talking in the apartment through the windows.

However, when police entered the apartment to talk to the resident, she had her guests hide in the bathroom and bedroom, according to police.
When police asked if there was anyone in the apartment, police said she state “There is no one here, they all left a while ago.” At this time, as her guests were attempting to hide, they could not stop talking or keep there noise down.

Police said it was obvious that she was hiding her guests. Officers discovered between 20 and 25 people hiding in the apartment. They were all advised that the party was over and to leave in a quiet manner, which they did with no other incidents.
Police discovered that the apartment’s resident had also hosted a loud party several nights before and she was issued a city noise ordinance violation and advised that there would be further consequences if there were additional complaints.
