Shots Fired At Car On Route 1 In Peabody: State Police

State police said are looking for the public's help identifying the man they said is suspected of shooting out of a Toyota SUV Wednesday.

PEABODY, MA — Shots fired from a gray Toyota SUV with Florida plates on Route 1 North in Peabody Wednesday night hit the passenger door of a black Mercedes.

Peabody and State police were investigating the apparent road rage incident that left at least one bullet hole on the passenger side door of a 26-year-old woman's Mercedes about 9:40 p.m.

State police said the SUV was tailgating the woman and "subsequently began to drive even more aggressively" in trying to pass the Mercedes near the Holiday Inn. When the Toyota came up on the passenger side of the Mercedes, police said the Toyota's driver shot at the car.
