State Okays Expansion Of Pamplemousse Liquor License In Salem
The move will allow the gourmet shop to sell liquor in addition to beer and wine.

SALEM, MA -- Pamplemousse, a gourmet shop on Essex Street in Salem, received approval from the state legislature for an expanded liquor license that will allow it to sell spirits and hard liquor. Under its previous liquor license, the store was only permitted to sell beer and wine. The approval comes with the increasing popularity of specialty cocktails in bars and restaurants.
In addition to wine and beer, Pamplemousse sells specialty foods, cheeses, coffees and kitchen supplies. The store lso has a location in Reading, but the expanded liquor license only applies to its Salem location.
