Time for More Adult Programming at The Salem Public Library

What Adult Programming Would You Like to See at the Salem Public Library?

Children’s Programming
Children’s Programming (Salem Public Library Facebook Page)

I am very proud to be a lifelong resident of Salem, MA. As a youngster, I can remember attending children’s events at the library (back then there were two other branches besides the main branch) and my children have been blessed to have had access to all types of programming that began when they were babies and continues into their tween and teen years. The photo associated with this article is one of a recent children’s library program in which their stuffed animals had a sleepover at the library and their “activities” were photographed and posted on the library’s Facebook page.

After having seen the plethora of programming opportunities available to my children within months of their birth and up through their high school years, I can’t help but wonder why the programming opportunities are few and far between once individuals embark upon adulthood. I find myself frequently perusing the events calendars of several nearby libraries other than MY library, the Salem Public Library. So, my questions for the residents of the City of Salem are the following: Why is there so little programming for adults at The Salem Public Library and what adult programming would you like to see at The Salem Public Library?
