Moulton said he believes the ethic of service that comes from tours in the military, State Department, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, federal departments and agencies, or other national service organizations is "sorely needed in Washington today."

He said the Boston launch event for the Serve America Victory Fund in February raised more than $670,000 for candidates in tough races across the country.

Among Moulton's stated legislative accomplishments are the designation of a three-digit National Suicide Hotline 9-8-9, The Brandon Act to improve mental health care for active duty service members, and making ALS disability insurance more comprehensive and accessible.

He also recently reintroduced the American High-Speed Rail Act, which he called "the most ambitious and forward-thinking infrastructure package before Congress today."

Moulton said he is also leading the G.I. Bill Restoration Act with Congressman James Clyburn to
restore long-denied benefits to Black veterans of World War II and that he has delivered more than $13 million in federal funding to community improvement projects across the North Shore.
