VIDEO: It's Paczki Time!

Coffee Time Bake Shop and Cafe Polonia team up to celebrate Fat Tuesday and benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem.

Two Salem businesses worked together yesterday to celebrate Fat Tuesday and benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Salem with a Paczki eating contest.

Coffee Time Bake Shop brought the packzi (a traditional Polish pastry) to Cafe Polonia, where some paczki battles were fought.

A total of 10 percent of sales from both businesses Tuesday were donated to the Boys & Girls Club. Cafe Polonia also donated $15 for each person who entered the competition.

The winner in the adult competition managed to eat two of the pastries in 50 seconds.

This was the first year the contest was held. Cafe Polonia Owner Darek Barcikowski said he hopes it becomes a tradition.
