Volunteers Repair Salem Woods Trailhead
The entrance to Salem Woods got a much-needed touch-up Saturday.
The Friends of Salem Woods spearheaded an effort to repair the Salem Woods trailhead over the weekend.
A crew of nine volunteers spent roughly three hours Saturday morning filling in a gully with stone and dirt, and even created three rows of stone to divert rain off of the trail.
"The trail entrance is now smooth, gently graded, and safe for walking!" Friends of Salem Woods member Nancy Gilberg said in an email. "We'll let the dirt settle and see how it holds up under future rainfall, and then go back and patch it where necessary."
