Over 300 people attended the sixth annual ‘Field of Dreams WiffleBall Tournament’ at the Boston Athletic Club in South Boston. Westwood resident and Boston Police Superintendent Paul Fitzgerald founded “Field of Dreams”, a day-long wiffleball tournament, with his wife, Leigh Anne, after their daughter Caroline was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 8. This year’s event, sponsored by the City of Boston Credit Union, raised more than $70,000 for Joslin Diabetes Center where Caroline is still a patient, bringing the six-year fundraising total to $360,000.

The afternoon included music, raffles, games and more; 100% of the proceeds benefit Joslin’s High Hopes Fund, which directly supports vital diabetes clinical care programs and ground-breaking research initiatives at Joslin Diabetes Center.
