What's Open, Closed On New Year's Day In Salem
Find out what's opening and what's keeping its doors closed on the holiday.

SALEM, MA -- City of Salem offices will close at 11:30 am on Monday, Dec. 31 for New Year's Eve. The offices will be closed all day on Jan. 1 for New Years. Trash will be picked up on Monday. For the remainder of the week, there will be a one-day delay (Tuesday on Wednesday, Wednesday on Thursday, Thursday on Friday and Friday on Saturday).
The city's 16th annual Christmas Tree bonfire will be held at 6 pm on Jan. 3 on Dead Horse Beach at the Salem Willows. The rain/snow/wind date in Jan. 4. Residents can drop Christmas trees at the beach beginning Jan. 2 or leave it out for trash pickup beginning Dec. 31. Make sure you remove all decorations
