Youth Jobs Money Available Through Essex Heritage Program

Qualifying organizations can get up to $10,000 to provide paid employment for North Shore teens and college-age students.

SALEM, MA — Qualifying organizations can get up to $10,000 to help employ teens and college-age students across the North Shore through the Essex Heritage's "Future Leaders" youth jobs internship funding program.

Essex Heritage is looking to fund jobs in the areas of visitor services, exhibit design and maintenance, archival work, environmental education and preservation, "hidden histories" and trail development and maintenance.

The mission of the program is to provide work experience for young people in jobs that might otherwise be unfilled or classified as unpaid internships. Organizations can apply for between $2,000 and $10,000 in reimbursement funds to provide young adults with a paycheck.
