Supporting a Local and Rockin' Business

A local business rocks and I bring you the words to add to the music, School of Rock is for everyone that likes rock and would like to learn how to rock.

Seekonk residents, musicians, singers, wanna-be singers/musicians (like me), lend me your eyes!

Feast on these words, especially if you are a great supporter of local businesses and a huge fan of music, and you have children that also love music and want to learn more. Or maybe you are like me—a big kid that lives for rock music and wants to sing in a band. (Voice lessons here I come! Yes, they have voice lessons as well as the guitar/drums/bass). It's a music school with a summer camp as well! I wish that I could go! I think I might be just a lil' too old.

Seekonk's School of Rock has been open for business for approximately six months. I didn't even know anything about it until a visit to Dollar Tree about a month ago.

What was once a Pier 1 Imports is now the site of the institution that spawned the movie of the same name. So, after my sojourn to buy a sundry item for a buck, I noticed the school and went in to check it out. I was welcomed in by its friendly general manager Mike Weber. Plus, there was a "wow" factor for me. I have been a long-time music lover, love to sing, and thought, "I want to go here!"

Also, the GM is a singer in a band, which I went and saw recently and they are really good! I highly recommend checking them out!

I am highly recommending anyone with kids or anyone that loves music and likes to help a local business go take a free tour and ask about the summer camp programs for your kids, as they've started registration.

The Rock blogger has spoken! —Peace out
