Snapchat Gun Threat at Durfee High School
Durfree High School was locked down Monday after a student posted a threatening Snapchat message, officials said.
FALL RIVER, MA — Durfee High School in Fall River was locked down Monday morning after a student posted a photo of a weapon on Snapchat, officials said.
The photo showed what turned out to be a BB gun with the caption "Life at Durfee." Students who saw the photo told administrators about it it about 9:30 a.m. The school was locked down.
Police said the student proceeded to leave the school with the BB gun; he was arrested at his residence. His name was not released.

"Weapons ... have no place in our schools," Fall River schools Superintendent Matthew Malone said in a statement.
There was another gun threat at Durfee last week.

Malone said there will be a noticeable police presence at the school Tuesday.
"We will continue to be vigilant and will not tolerate behavior that compromises the safety of our students and staff," Malone said.
