Fall River Elementary School Student Dies

FALL RIVER, MA — A student at Mary L. Fonseca Elementary School has died, school officials announced Friday. The name and age of the student, who died on Thursday evening, has not been released, nor has the cause of death.

Grief counseling for the school community is available from from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the elementary school, WJAR reported.

"We thank you in advance for your understanding and support and ask you to keep the child’s family, friends, and Fonseca community in your thoughts as we all continue to deal with this very difficult situation," Superintendent Matthew Malone said in a statement.
