Fall River Man Accused Of Crashing Into Boy, Attempting To Flee

A 19-year-old man has been charged in a collision that resulted in a 7-year-old boy being pinned against a building.

FALL RIVER, MA – A Fall River man has been charged with hitting a 7-year-old boy with his car on Sunday and attempting to flee the scene, the Herald News reported. David Fernandes, 19, allegedly struck the boy in front of Burlington Coat Factory and tried to drive away.

The boy was reportedly pinned by the car against the store on Mariano Bishop Boulevard, according to the Herald News. He sustained bruising but did not not have life-threatening injuries.

Fernandes also faces a charge of operating under the influence of drugs. He was held on $8,500 cash bail pending his arraignment Tuesday.
