Hurley MS "Pink-Out" Day Raises Money for Cancer

HMS students and staff recognize those that have suffered with all forms of cancer

Tuesday, October 28th, was Pink Out Day at HMS. This is a day for the school to honor and recognize cancer patients, friends and families. Students and staff went all out with pink hair, clothing, and every pink accessory known. The Wall of Hope and staff dress down donations raised approximately $235 to be donated to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer branch of the American Cancer Society. Computer Applications teacher Kim Deleo said, ”This terrible disease, in all its forms, does not discriminate, and the message our community would like to share is that it is so important to seek medical attention if you feel something just isn’t right - acting quickly might just save your life, as it did mine.” Mrs. Deleo, who organizes the big day, would like to personally thank all staff members, students, and parents who sent in money for their children to purchase Wall of Hope honor cards!
