Man Killed In Seekonk Rollover ID'd

A 33-year-old Rhode Island man living in Seekonk died when his car rolled over on Pine Street Sunday night.

SEEKONK, MA – The driver killed in a single-car crash in Seekonk Sunday night has been identified. Sean Letourneau, 33, who was living in Seekonk with friends but had a Pawtucket, RI address on his license, died when his car drove off the road and struck a utility pole, police said.

Police responded to the area of 441 Pine Street around 8:40 p.m. Sunday night. Upon arrival, they found the car on its roof with utility wires hanging nearby. The vehicle had been traveling west on Pine Street when it went off the road, according to police.

Power had to be cut off so first responders could approach the car. Letourneau, the sole occupant, was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Police said he was not wearing a seat belt.

According to police, excessive speed may have been a contributing factor in the crash. An investigation is underway to determine what else may have caused the car to go off the road.
