New Bedford Pot Bust: 40 Plants, Rifle, Glock, Seized
A pot bust in New Bedford resulted in the seizure of 40 plants, guns, and cash. Jose Irizarry and Michael Santos were arrested.

NEW BEDFORD, MA — New Bedford police arrested two men accused of running a marijuana operation out of an apartment building.
Jose Irizarry, 38, and Michael Santos, 34, allegedly ran the operation out of their second- and third-floor apartments at 608 Summer St., police said.

Michael Santos
Police on Tuesday executed a search warrant and said they found a sophisticated growing operation with 39 plants in three grow rooms. Police said the plants were worth about $10,000. Police said they seized:
- A Ruger rifle
- Glock
- Dozens of rounds of ammunition and several clips
- About 3 pounds of marijuana
- Hundreds in cash
- Scales and packaging material
Both were were arraigned on 14 counts of drug and gun charges.
