New Haven Wins Twice in Region Tournament

     The Dom Aitro Baseball League of New Haven, Conn., posted two victories Friday to advance to the winners' bracket final of the 2013 Mustang League North Region Tournament of PONY Baseball held at the Nike Site Playing Complex in Swansea.
     Dom Aitro erased six-run deficits in both games, rallying past the Bonnie Rangers of Brooklyn, N.Y., 14-10, in an afternoon outing and the Tri-City Bombers of Troy, N.Y., 19-9, in a night contest. Also Friday, Belmont, N.Y., stayed alive by ousting the Bonnie Rangers, 17-7.
     Tournament action continues Saturday at 10 a.m. when Belmont tests Tri-City in a losers' bracket game. At 12:30 p.m., Dom Aitro will confront the host Swansea Independent Baseball League all-stars in the winners' bracket final. At 5 p.m., the winner of the 10 a.m. battle will challenge the loser of the 12:30 p.m. tilt in the losers' bracket final.
     The tournament will conclude Sunday with either one or two games starting at 9 a.m. The region champion earns a berth in next week's East Zone Tournament in Chesterfield, Virg.
