The Case High football schedule is facing major changes this year with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association's new playoff system.
Teams have seven games scheduled in September and October before the new playoffs start in November. If the Cardinals don't make the Division 5 South playoffs (their new division), they will have games scheduled in November against other non-playoff qualifiers.
If they make the playoffs, it will start in the first week of November, finishing with the new state-wide Super Bowl Dec. 7 at Gillette Stadium. The MIAA will be crowning state champions for the first time.
While it won't count in the standings, teams are keeping their Super Bowl rivals. Case will be hosting Somerset-Berkley, Nov. 28 at 10 a.m.
Teams the Cardinals will be competing against for playoff spots will be Abington, Archbishop Williams, Ashland, Bellingham, Bourne, Cardinal Spellman, Dover-Sherborn, East Bridgewater, Fairhaven, Greater New Bedford Voke, Martha's Vineyard, Norwell, Old Rochester, Rockland and Seekonk.
