MTTI began in 1985 as a Workforce Program, by area residents, Ward and Sharon Ring (now joined by their son, Eddie and daughter, Ali). Their mission was—and continues to be—to serve as the bridge between employers needing skilled workers in specific occupational areas, and unemployed or underemployed people needing a marketable skills set.

All of MTTI’s career training programs are developed with, and reviewed twice a year by, Advisory Boards made up of local employers and industry specialists. The Advisory Board Members oversee and advise on each program’s curriculum, tools, equipment and facility, etc. By meeting employers’ needs for the professional development, knowledge and hands-on skills they expect entry-level candidates to have, the programs support graduate success in the workplace.
