Police Sent To Seekonk High After Possible Threat
Police increased its presence at the school Monday after a "vague" threat was received over the weekend.

SEEKONK, MA – Additional officers were sent to Seekonk High School Monday morning after school administrators received a "vague" threat over the weekend, Seekonk police said. The threat, which was brought to the attention of officials Sunday night, had what police described as a "low threshold of credibility." It was uncovered at a weekend track event and relayed to the school department with few details.
"The information provided to the school department lacked specificity in terms of who made suspicious comments and whether they were actually associated with Seekonk," Chief Craig Mace and Superintendent Arlene Bosco wrote in a joint statement. "At no time was Seekonk High School nor anything related to Seekonk High School mentioned in this threat."
The police presence at Seekonk High School was a joint decision between school and police officials. It was done "out of an abundance of caution," according to Mace and Bosco.
