RE-Tree Event | CALL TO CREATORS!

The
Four Corners Arts Center is hosting a “Call to Creators” for their first annual
re
Tree
” – A Showcase of Trees Created with Recycled Materials to be held
on December 14th 2013 and running until January 4th 2014.  This “Call
to Creators”
goes out to families,
individuals, community groups, businesses, artists and arts groups
! Pledged
participation registration for this event begins on November 7th and
runs through November 30th. 
Cash prize of $150 for best overall tree as well as prizes for judge’s
picks will be awarded. 



Trees
will be judged on: best use of recycled,
reclaimed or repurposed materials
, construction
& creativity.  We are pleased to announce that Executive
Director of ECO-RI, Joanna Detz, President of Humphrey Building Supply, Tiverton Scott Humphrey, and renowned sculptor, Susan Freda will be judging the submissions.



Basic
requirements for trees are: the tree must
be composed of 90% recycled,
reclaimed
or repurposed materials, the tree must light up (there are outdoor plugs
available but, consider solar!) must be outdoor friendly and secure when
standing.
  Trees should be no smaller
than 5 feet and no taller than 9 feet. 
All trees will be labeled with a 4x6 plaque stating the name(s) of
creator(s) or businesses.

Trees
can be dropped off on Thursday December 12th from 3-6 and on Friday,
December 13th 10-1.  This
event will take place on the grounds of the Meeting House, 3850 Main Road,
Tiverton Four Corners and will kick off with a lighting, stroll and award
ceremony on December 14th 4-6. 
Seasonal, warm refreshments will be served by the outdoor fire.  Carriage rides will also be available through
the local carriage company, Little Compton Carriage.  The trees will be on display until January 4th
2014.
